Why choose plastic wood lumber?
Manticore Lumber is a plastic wood alternative made from 100% recycled plastic, using plastic waste that is unusable in conventional recycling processes. Saving these materials from landfill, giving them value and recycling them into a long life product, provides a harmonious solution to sustainable living.
The robust and sustainable Manticore Lumber comes with a 10 year limited residential warranty against breakage, splinters, rot and fungal decay. This maintenance free solution is therefore the perfect choice for any commercial or residential application.
What is plastic lumber?
Plastic lumber is a form of lumber that is made of 100% plastic. The collection we provide, Manticore Plastic Lumber, is formed from 100% recycled plastics, collected from all over the UK. The production process makes use of mixed plastics from post-consumer waste, which is currently unusable by conventional recycling methods, meaning an otherwise contaminated surplus plastic packaging can be diverted from landfill into second-life products.
What is plastic lumber used for?
Plastic lumber is most commonly used to support outdoor decking. Manticore lumber does, however, come in different moulds suitable for fencing and decking, plastic sheets, hoarding boards, and lawn edgings. We also supply recycled plastic benches and street furniture.
What are the benefits of plastic lumber?
Plastic lumber is made from one of the longest lasting materials – plastic – meaning that it will not rot or degrade with age. This makes it extremely low maintenance, as it does not require any maintenance besides an occasional wipe. Furthermore, plastic lumber will not crack and is resistant to insect attacks. It is also perfect for outdoor use as it is waterproof. At EnviroBuild, we care about the environment so we also ensured Manticore lumber is inert and does not leach any harmful chemicals into the environment.

Manticore plastic lumber usually comes in black, but is available in brown upon request.
Please note that even though every effort has been made to make Manticore lumber 100% plastic, some metal pieces are not always extracted in the recycling process and remain in the mix. That’s why you may find some metal pieces in Manticore plastic lumber.

How do I cut plastic lumber?
Is plastic lumber easy to maintain?
Is Manticore plastic lumber environmentally friendly?
Yes, it is. Manticore plastic lumber profiles and products are made using 100% recycled mixed plastics from post-consumer waste that is currently unusable by conventional recycling methods. To go further when the material is sorted and purified, any waste metal is collected and sent to be reused as well.
As the plastic wood is a non-absorbent material, this means that it will last far beyond standard timber products, helping to reduce the wasteful short use and replace cycle. Additionally, as the lumber never requires treating, no harmful chemicals or labour are required every year. Where possible the products have also been designed to enable them to be recycled back into usable material after their usable life.
How else is EnviroBuild sustainable?
We ensure that the materials we supply are certified with; a high recycled content & recyclability level, long working life, plus where possible, the manufacturing process incorporates environmentally beneficial best practices.
