This warranty shall not cover and EnviroBuild shall not be responsible for costs and expenses incurred with respect to the removal of defective Manticore products or the installation of replacement materials, including but not limited to labour and delivery. The foregoing remedies are the SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY.
Warranty transfer: this warranty may be transferred one (1) time, within the five (5) year period beginning from the date of original purchase by the Purchaser, to a subsequent buyer of the property upon which the Manticore products were originally installed.
Manufacturer does not warrant against and is not responsible for, and no implied warranty shall be deemed to cover, any product failure, product malfunction, or damages attributable to: (1) improper installation of Manticore products and/or failure to abide by Manufacturer’s installation guidelines, including but not limited to improper fixing that does not allow for expansion during temperature changes, improper gapping or supporting; (2) use of Manticore products beyond normal use and service conditions, or in an application not recommended by Manufacturer’s guidelines and local building codes; (3) movement, distortion, collapse or settling of the ground or the supporting structure on which Manticore products are installed; (4) any act of God (such as flooding, hurricane, earthquake, lightning, etc.), environmental condition (such as air pollution, mold, mildew, etc.), staining from foreign substances (such as dirt, grease, oil, etc.), or normal weathering (defined as exposure to sunlight, weather and atmosphere which will cause any coloured surface to gradually fade, chalk, or accumulate dirt or stains); (5) variations or changes in colour of Manticore products; (6) improper handling, storage, abuse or neglect of Manticore products by Purchaser, the transferee or third parties; (7) any products that have not been paid in full; or (8) ordinary wear and tear.
For installations using plastic lumber please follow these guidelines and recommendations to ensure the validity of the warranty.
Plastic will expand in the heat and contract again when it cools. Where plastic lumber product ends butt up to other objects/surfaces, whether decking joists ends or where fence rails meet on a post, they should be butted up with a gap of at min. 10 mm left between them. Rails, Sheets and joists will twist in the heat if they expand and they are too tightly joined/ abutted.
When securing Manticore sheets with bolts or screws, pre-drilled holes should be oversized by at least 3mm to allow expansion and contraction of the material.
No person or entity is authorized by EnviroBuild to make and EnviroBuild shall not be bound by any statement or representation as to the quality or performance of Manticore products other than as contained in this warranty. This warranty may not be altered or amended except in a written instrument signed by EnviroBuild and Purchaser.
DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES: EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS WRITTEN WARRANTY CONTAINED HEREIN, MANUFACTURER OR ENVIROBUILD MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES OR INDEMNITIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ARISING BY LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE OF TRADE, CUSTOM OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL SUCH OTHER WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES AND INDEMNITIES ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED, OVERRIDDEN AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS TRANSACTION. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL MANUFACTURER OR ENVIROBUILD BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOST PROFITS, LOST SALES, LOSS OF GOODWILL, USE OF MONEY, USE OF GOODS, STOPPAGE OF WORK, OR IMPAIRMENT OF ASSETS), WHETHER SUCH DAMAGES ARE SOUGHT IN CONTRACT, IN TORT (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY) OR OTHERWISE, AND MANUFACTURER OR ENVIROBUILD’S LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS SHALL IN NO EVENT EXCEED THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH PRODUCTS OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE, AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
The exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages is not allowed in some nations, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from nation to nation. Consumers have legal rights under applicable national legislation governing the sale of consumer goods. This warranty does not affect those rights.
PLASTIC LUMBER INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
When using plastic lumber profiles to support decking, you must ensure:
- Each bearer/joist must be supported in a minimum of 3 places
- The bearers are designed to take live loads, any static loads must be placed over the main supports
- Plastic bearers should be installed with the greatest dimension as the upright
- The bearer must not overhang a support by more than 50mm
- You must leave min. 20mm between end to end lumber butt joints
- Do not fix bearers directly to the foundations; if you have to fix the bearers to the substructure, use expansion clips
- Where lumber ends abut a cross beam, you must leave min. 10mm gap from the bearer end to the cross beam. These can be joined using expansion L-brackets over a support or joist hangers
Deck bearing substructures and fencing rails when attached to posts, should be attached using good quality galvanised mushroom capped bolts which penetrate both the plastic lumber and the upright, typically with countersunk nuts where appropriate. The holes should be oversized by 3mm to allow for expansion and contraction.
Upright posts (80x80mm or 100x100mm profiles only) should be installed so that one third of the post is below ground (min. 500mm) and two thirds above ground. Consideration should be given, dependent on weight and span of joists, rails or palings, also site specific application (weather and ground conditions), as to whether posts should be installed with concrete surround below ground.
When supporting plastic lumber profiles, please adhere to the following support span table (the greatest dimension being used as the upright):
|Profile||Use||Min. Support Centre Span|
|80x80mm||Birds mouth fencing||1550mm|
|100x100mm||Birds mouth fencing||1550mm|
For post and wire fencing, galvanised fencing staples to a maximum of 25mm length can be used, but it is important that two pilot holes are pre-drilled for each staple, as the plastic lumber outer surface is tough to penetrate and fencing staples may bounce off with the potential to cause injury.
Personal protective equipment should be worn including safety goggles and suitable gloves. Ideally screw fixings should be used instead of hammered nails or staples. Whilst fixing wire into plastic lumber may take slightly longer than hammering staples into traditional timber, plastic lumber will not require further maintenance or replacement for many years beyond the lifetime of traditional timber posts.
Product dimensions and colour can vary slightly due to nature of process and input material.
PLASTIC PROTECTIVE SHEETING INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
When using plastic sheeting you must ensure:
- Always store the boards in a level and flat condition
- Ensure the boards are acclimatised to the ambient conditions prior to installation and, wherever possible, install close to the ambient condition anticipated during service
- The boards should not be left unsupported for any prolonged period
- Always allow for expansion and contraction at butt joints. H-section joining strips can be utilised to mask the space and create a professional finish.
- Fixings should be installed into pre-drilled holes
- Holes for fixings should be oversized by a minimum of 2mm in relation to the fixings, or alternatively slotted to allow for movement in the structure. We recommend fixing and covering the slot with a bolt and washer arrangement.
- Avoid countersunk screws and do not over tighten. Allow room for expansion. Use round headed screws if possible.
- Do not use nails to fix sheets.
- Do not use glue to fix sheets
Personal protective equipment should be worn including safety goggles and suitable gloves.
Product dimensions and colour can vary slightly due to nature of process and input material.
